| Remarks: | A play inspired by (and first staged in 1796 within only two months of) an actual mass murder at the Aburaya Teahouse. Mitsugi is a minor Shinto priest serving the lord of Awa at the Ise Grand Shrine who becomes involved in recovering an heirloom sword belonging to the Awa family.
