Artist: Utagawa Toyohiro (1773–1828)
Subject: A young man is writing a dedication for the Inari temple. To his left, a courtesan arranges a flower in a vase and turns to observe it. The print is the central sheet of a triptych depicting various courtesans of the Shin Yoshiwara licensed district intent on preparing for the Inari festival. The subject is associated with the second month.
Series: Toyokuni Toyohiro ryoga juniko (The Twelve Seasons Painted by Toyohiro and Toyokuni). A series of triptychs designed by the two artists.
