Artist: Attributed to Isoda Koryūsai (1735-1790)
Subject: A falcon (taka) is perched on a rock by the sea. An oak branch protrudes from the rock while the waves foam beneath it. On the horizon the rising sun with a light halo delicately printed in pink.

Remarks: All elements of this print are auspicious and associated with Good Luck, the New Year and Longevity. In the kacho-ga genre the falcon perched on a pine tree and the sun on the horizon was later again often depicted by Hiroshige.
