Subject: A young man, dressed with the Heian court costume, playing the ball play (kemari). The subject is often associated with Chapter 34 of Genji Monogatari, Wakanajō.
Signature: Tanjōdō Ishikawa Shūha Toyonobu zu. Seals Ishikawa uji Toyonobu
Date: 1750-60 ca.
Size: Hashira-e, 72,3x11 cm
Medium: Woodblock print with red (benizuri-e) and few colours.

Conditions: Very good impression, the grey slightly off register in the lower part. Colours slightly faded. Some light creased and marks all around from previous mounting as a scrool. In general very good conditions for this kind of early print. A very large untrimmed sheet.
