Literature:
The complete set of five surimono in the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin, is described in detail and illustrated in Roger Keyes, The Art of Surimono, London 1980, no. 48-51 . More recently another impression of this print has been illustrated in Hanaoka and Pollard, Plum Blossom & Green Willow. Japanese surimono poetry from the Asmolean Museum, Oxford 2018, no. 21. The impression in the Ashmolean Museum is missing the poetry emblem on the man's shoulder and for this reason is considered a late copy.
