Sambō Kōjin. (Sold)

Sambō Kōjin. (Sold)

A wood netsuke carved with a group of travellers. The subject known as Sambō Kōjin, has an esoteric meaning.
According Henri Joly in his Legends in Japanese Art, the travellers on the horsback are symbolic of the "Kitchen God", terror of evildoers, also known as "Spiritual God of the three Trasures".
